Competition

Competing in any endevour tends to bring the best out of us.  Many people choose to do a bodybuilding competition in order to give themselves a formal challenge.  There is bodybuilding for men and women which is judged based on the body's overall muscularity, symmetry, and proportionality.  For women there are also fitness (which includes a gymnastics floor routine), figure, and the recently added bikini division (the latter two judged solely on physique, posture, poise, etc).  Preparing for a competition requires hard work and discipline with your physical training, diet, posing practice, and mental focus.  There is nothing more satisfying than getting into the best shape of your whole life and going up against other competitors who have also dedicated themselves towards physical perfection.  Masters Divisions hold classes for over 40, 50, 60 years old, so it is never to late to go for it!

I won the 2004 Mid-Illinois Middleweight and Overall Class, the 2008 Continental USA Lightheavy Class (1st Place), and the 2008 Chicago Ironman Lightheavy Class (1st Place).  I am currently nationally qualified and plan to compete in this year's Junior Nationals (Chicago) and Nationals (Florida).   I intend to compete for my pro card and then compete in the IFBB (International Federation of Bodybuilding).

Hire a Coach!

If you are competing for the first time or want to start placing higher, consider hiring a coach to help ensure your preparation is on target.  Call today to ask how I can help you develop a gameplan, including your diet, your training splits, supplementation, and posing.  Having a coach helps with accountability, keeps you on track, and gives you confidence as you make all the adjustments pre-contest when your body is drastically changing.
