This class is designed to gain a foundation in the use of Russian kettlebells. Basic exercises will be taught by Trainer Troy to enhance your total body workout with an alternative way of training. All fitness levels welcome in this class.
Kettlebells were the original tools used by strongmen “Gireviks,” and now have been brought into mainstream fitness as an alternative means of training for all people. Kettlebell work combines resistance with full body movement; therefore, has the benefits of both cardiovascular and resistance training simultaneously. They can be used outside, at home, in the gym, and there are even kettlebell competitions. Women and men of any age can experience the benefits of kettlebell training. Trainer Troy has interned with RKC Kettlebell expert Arturas Kolgovas.
This class will cover:
-Basic kettlebell history
-Proper form and technique, including drills to correct bad habits
-Sample kettlebell workout routines
-Concept of “Russian Ladder” routines
The following moves will be covered:
-Basic Swings with variations
-Dark Swings
-Cleans (single and double)
-Push Press
-Halos
-Windmills
-Turkish Get-Ups
-Exposure to advanced moves
